The Bonsall Red Barrows were formed in 2009 from volunteers who live in or near the Derbyshire village to support our local carnival. Initially performing our Red Barrow display, success at local carnivals led to developing a display involving Pantomime Horses.

2012 was a busy and successful year starting with the Horse Trials at Breaston Gala, Nottingham. This was followed with both the Red Barrows and Horse Trials at the Bearded Theory Festival at Kedleston Hall, near Derby, where we ended up the opening act in front of the main stage on both the Saturday and Sunday.

A new Red Barrows display was launched at the Dunnington Carnival, near York, which then raised a storm at Bonsall Carnival including the arrival of a barrow on a zip wire to get us going. Our last outing was at a charity fundraiser for SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal death) on Cromford Meadows accompanied by one of the Battle of Britain Spitfires providing a flypast.
